Gordon Higginson

After reading "Is Death The End" my curiosity new no bounds, especially after the incident with the book. I searched the libraries for anything and everything to do with Spiritualism. I also bought books, psychic newspapers and magazines. (Two Worlds and Psychic News.)

I was well and truly enthralled by it all.

One Saturday evening I travelled the twenty miles to a town called Doncaster, and went to the Spiritualist church, and found it was packed. The gentleman on the platform was Gordon Higginson, accompanied by the Minister of the church.

For those who never saw Gordon work, here is a description: He would go to a person and give them part of a message, then say "you hold that."

He would then go to someone else and say, "hold that." He would do this with about three people, then go back to the first one and finish the message.

During the evening I worked out that he gave about Ten Messages. The strange thing about it was that the people who had received messages "from the other side" seemed to accept almost everything that they had been told.

Remember, this was my first time in a Spiritualist Church. My first thought was, "I wonder if these people are "planted" in the audience? That was until the service was almost at an end,  just before Gordon said the closing prayer.

He said, "I want to speak to a gentleman on the very back row." He then said, "Who is John?" Two of us put our hands up. "Which one of you is visiting a Spiritualist Church for the first time?" he said. I raised my hand.

He replied, "It's you I wish to speak to."

He then proceeded to tell me about a friend who had passed over at 17 years of age, and he told me about my Mother and Sister in the Spirit World.

He was so accurate it was unbelievable.

He then told me that one day I would write of my Psychic experiences and also that I would be on the platform. I have been on the platform (in a small way) and here I am writing. What more can I say?

I saw Gordon Higginson Three more times, but he never gave me another message.The Spirit World had said what they wanted to say.

Through the years I have seen many mediums, and I realise that they do not always have a good night of Clairvoyance, but other nights they can be spot on.

I remember seeing a well known Medium at a church I went to. She said, "Good evening everyone." Then she paused and said, "You're having an early night tonight, I haven't got anything."

And that is how it goes. A Medium who is, shall we say, "mediocre" one night can be absolutely brilliant on another.....
