How it began...

Hello, My name is John. I am now a few weeks short of my 70th. birthday, having been born in 1933.

My first psychic experience began when I was 10 years old,that would be in 1943. I awoke one morning to see a schoolboy standing at the bottom of my bed. I remember asking him where he came from. He smiled at me, looking around the room, so I asked him again, and he smiled again and simply turned around and walked through the wall!

Over breakfast, I told my two older sisters what I had seen. They said I had been dreaming. I also got the same reaction from Mother.

The following day my Mother was talking to the lady next door and after much persuasion and cajolling from me, Mother told our neighbour what I had seen. This neighbour of ours seemed to be more understanding because she asked me to describe the boy I had seen in more detail.

I told her that he was in a school blazer and short trousers, his cap was placed jauntily on his head , and tufts of ginger hair protruded beneath his cap. He also had a '"chubby" face,there was a badge on his cap and blazer.

Our neighbour said that I had described a boy who had lived a few streets away from us in one of the private houses, who had died through being in a road accident a few years before. She also said that he had been friendly with the boy next door.

It was all very strange. How could I see someone quite clearly and yet he be dead?

Besides, you were supposed to see through ghosts (this was my young mind.) The boy I saw was quite solid, no way could I see through him.

Harry Edwards.

Time goes by, I leave school at 15 years of age and go to work in a Blacksmiths shop in a steel factory. Everyone started work in the Blacksmith's shop at this factory.

In 1950 Harry Edwards came to a large hall at Harworth in Nottinghamshire to give a demonstration. A friend of mine had been torpedoed twice whilst on the Russian Convoys (he was in the Royal Navy protecting merchant ships going to Russia.) This friend had a metal plate in his head, and he suffered the most terrible headaches. His Mother asked me if I would go with him to see this Healer.

We went along and the place was full to capacity.

On the platform was Harry Edwards and other healers. Some people have asked me how Mr. Edwards did his Healing? Did he walk around the people in the hall, laying his hands on them and then moving to someone else?

I remember Mr. Edwards asking "Does anyone have back problems?" These people would go to the platform and form a queue, and when a seat became vacant, they were asked to occupy it and receive healing.

"Does anyone have arthritis?" These would form a queue,and so it went on.

Then came the call for those with headaches. I walked to the platform with my friend. It was Harry who asked him to sit down and he gave him healing. I asked my friend a few months later how he had been, and he told me that for about 2 months he had been free from headaches, but they had returned.

If I had known at that time I would have tried to get him to see a Spiritual Healer on a regular basis, but I didn't know about Spiritual Healing, everyone used to call it "Faith'" healing.

While I am speaking of Harry Edwards, a few years later my Wife was having an awful time with kidney stones. I wrote to Harry Edwards and asked him for absent healing for her. The day before I wrote to him, my Wife's Doctor said that he was having her in hospital for a dye injection.

I wrote the letter and 2 days later, and I'm talking of 2 o clock in the morning, my Wife awakened me and said she had seen a man in a white coat standing at the side of the bed. I told her she must have been dreaming.

"Alright" she said," But why has the pain gone?"

A few weeks later she kept her Hospital appointment, and they injected her with a dye fluid. They told her that she must have been mis-diagnosed,there was no trace of the kidney stones. She never had kidney stones again.

Don't let anyone tell me that absent healing doesn't work. Before I wrote to Harry Edwards, I saw my Wife break out into sweats and cry with the pain.
